The Busby Alarm Maintenance UI is a simple grid based UI designed for engineers or supervisors for the purposes of testing and clearing alarms.
The UI shows all alarms in the system, no matter what state they are in, and is by default sorted by alarm ID, however all the columns are sortable by clicking on the column headers.
Each row has 3 action buttons
- Trigger - this will manually trigger the alarm
- Clear - if this is a latching alarm, the clear button will manually clear it if it is in the receiving attention state.
- Self-clear - if this is a self clearing or an indicate alarm, use this button to clear the alarm if it is in the receiving attention state.
¶ Overall Action Buttons
There are 2 overall action buttons, which appear in the top right of the panel - Receiving Attention and Force Clear All.
¶ Receiving Attention
Receiving Attention puts all alarms which are currently in the state of alarming, into the state of receiving attention. This state means the alarm is acknowledge and someone is dealing with it.
¶ Force Clear All
This button is designed for engineering/supervisor use only, therefore only appears if the user has the appropriate permission. Pressing this button immediately resets all alarms in the system into the normal state.
